I am truly honored to have been invited to narrate Leonard Bernstein’s KADDISH (Symphony No. 3). Bernstein’s emotional work was created after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Through the traditional practice of Kaddish – intense and vigorous prayer – Bernstein questions God’s faithfulness in the midst of turmoil on earth. Ironically, the work premiered on December 10, 1963 – my 15th birthday. You will have 2 opportunities to hear this narrator-intensive work. Performance will be in the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall.
